Air Conditioner Filters

Air conditioner filters filter dust and exchange it for clean air. Have you ever considered that filters can have a medical benefit for you and your family? A high quality filter is needed to ensure that your air conditioning unit delivers air devoid of pollutants. Imagine that, fresh, clean, pure air!

Did you know that the average person inhales 1.5 million dust particles everyday? The air inside of our homes is more detrimental to our health than outside air. The reason for this is that indoor air has no chance to disperse contaminants.

Air conditioner filters protect us from respirable particles. Have you ever noticed particles on your coffee table? We breathe these particles in daily. One inside our lungs, they can wreak havoc and cause illness and fatigue. Filters extract particles and ensure cleaner, purer air. Protect yourself against illness and allergies by using filters.

Two types of filters currently exist on the market. Depending on your preference, throw-away or re-usable filters are your options. Re-usable filters are beneficial because they can be used over and over again. They can be washed if needed. If you chose to with a re-usable filter, make sure it is easy to clean and filters out the most contaminants.

Don’t make the mistake of choosing air conditioner filters that don’t fit your machine. Ensure that the filter not only fits, but that it is functional. When considering functional filters, look at ultraviolet and HEPA filters.

Ultraviolet filters have sterilizers that kill contaminants, thus preventing them from entering the human body. On the other hand, HEPA filters clean out microscopic particles. They are best for clearing allergens out of the air and ensuring quality breathing air.

As important as it is to purchase air conditioner filters, it’s even more important to remember to replace them when needed. The HEPA filter that we have in our bedroom requires that the filter be changed every three months. This is assuming that the filter is used on a daily basis. We like using it at night not only to clear out the air, but for white noise as well.
